What is media? Can it
be that media have an influence on people’s behavior? Is there positive
influence that media gives? Many questions must be answered but will there be
an answer? In general, media refers to
different ways of communicating to other people through various forms.
Newspapers, televisions, magazines, and radios are used by the
media. Media uses them to capture people's mind imparting knowledge in different
forms. In imparting ideas, knowledge, and concepts media are making its part
but does it make such good influence to people who sees it? Let say yes it does
according to my experience media made an influence with my behavior. Because I
have been more frugal since the day I heard the news about roosters in this
year of the dragon. And with my experience I could say yes it does make
positive influence and so as I could say also that there is negative influence
given by the media.
Many people can be
influenced by the media but who are those people? Can I be the one or you are?
We can be influenced by the media but is your will strong enough not to be
influenced? People always rely on information and communication to keep moving
in the right direction and do our daily activities like work, entertainment,
health care, education, personal relationships, traveling and anything else
that we have to do. And media provide us information and communication that is
updated and sometimes we could rely on. Children having a sponge like abilities
to mimic or copy on what is in there surrounding are the ones who are
influenced easily the older you get the stronger your will gets not to be
influenced by the media because we are having our own beliefs
Positive influence
given by the media may differ according on how long the person interacts with
it the longer the interaction the more influenced the person maybe. Like
children who watches television more often than elderly people. The child may
know what are the trends, the latest, and the new. The child knows what to use
and wear when the time is right and how to react on different things which is
new to them. Through media a child could be more aware of what is happening in
their environment. How media influence adult people or the elderly people? Now
a day adult people or the elderly people see television too but they listen
more on radios. Like most children who sees the television and the internet
adult people or the elderly people knows the trend, the new, and the latest but
not as much as the children because children has this sponge like ability to
mimic or copy on what they see on their surroundings.
In every positive
influence there must be also negative influence that is given by the media. One
of it is violence. Violence is the intentional use of physical force or power,
threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or
community that either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in
injury, death, psychological harm. Media influence violence to people is like
giving bad data to people and use those data without knowing they are bad data.

they could do whatever they are watching mimicking them like blowing up
a house they might do such a thing and be given a bad reputation or be killed
by watching violent media entertainment. As of older people negative influence
can be found by them through watching televisions, listening to radios, and
reading newspapers. For example parents who reads newspapers with an article of
taking care of their child and do follow it but not remembering that there
child is special. It might not fit on how does one take care of a special child
and end up hurting the special child not physically but mentally. Because the mind
of a normal child does not level with does minds of special ones.
Media gives positive
and negative influences but these influences really rely on how do people think
and act. People use it as their advantage or disadvantage unknowingly. And
someone influenced by media intensely is the ones who does not have a strong
will and is innocent on what is in their surroundings. We must be influenced by
media in the ways we could benefit. Media is made for us to inform us and for
us to expand on what we hold to our selves
